Marvin Neil Simon, better known as Neil Simon, was born on July 4, 1927, in The Bronx, New York City, USA. He died at the age of 91, and he was a citizen of the United States. After being discharged from the service and graduating from university, Neil worked as a mailroom clerk at Warner Brothers’ East Coast Office in Manhattan. After a few years, he quit his job and began writing for radio and television with his brother. They collaborated with Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, and others on shows such as ‘The Phil Slivers Show’ and ‘Your Show of Shows.’

He was nominated for an Emmy several times for his television writing, which prompted him to pursue a career in theatre, and his first Broadway show, ‘Come Blow Your Horn,’ premiered at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in 1961. It has been played 678 times.
