DeJoria began her NHRA career in 2005, competing in the Super Gas category. It was before to transitioning into a Super Comp dragster. After her 8-month NHRA debut, she went on to win the Sportsman Nationals in Fontana, California. She spent two years on the West Coast in a Top Alcohol Funny Car (TA/FC). Stealth Motorsports, her own racing team, was formed in 2009.

Similarly, in the 2011 NHRA Northwest Fall Nationals, she won her first NHRA national event. As a result, she became only the second woman in history to accomplish so.
