Professionally, Anthony McGill is the New York Philharmonic’s lead clarinetist. He was the lead clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra for a decade before taking on this post. He was previously an associate principal clarinetist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he teaches at Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute and New York City’s Mannes College of Music.
