Missing Information

Goins’ grandparents, Jonathan, and Mary Sandoval, reported to the Alamosa Police Department (APD) on August 12, 2021, that their granddaughter Goins had not been seen in a long time with no contact. Furthermore, Goins’ grandparents were primary caregivers for Goins’ toddler son. Meanwhile, her family last saw her on Saturday, August 7, 2021. She was last seen at a family birthday party for her son.

Alanna Goins, Cheyenne’s younger sister, alerted APD that she got a text message from Cheyenne at 11:00 p.m. on August 7 claiming that Cheyenne was taking a ride to the Bank Shot, triggering an urgent inquiry.

Interview with Elias Salas

Then, on August 8, at one a.m., APD located Goins at the “Bank Shot” with Sasha Chacon and Lucas Salas. Cheyenne Goins, Sasha Chacon, and Lucas Salas allegedly departed the Bank Shot together in a car driven by Cheyenne’s friend, who then drove them to the Loaf ‘n Jug, which is located at Highway 17 and Highway 160.

Sasha Chacon, an APD informant, allegedly informed individuals that Goins left the pub with three males and that she had not seen her again. The four waited for Lucas Salas’ niece, Elias Salas, to arrive at the site. During a discussion with law enforcement agents, the buddy stated that Cheyenne, Sasha, and Lucas entered Elisa Salas’ car after she arrived. He claimed to have left at that point and has not seen Cheyenne Goins since.

Sasha Chacon was interviewed twice: once by APD on the day Cheyenne was reported missing and again by ACSO the day before law enforcement personnel were granted permission to excavate the site where they suspected Cheyenne was buried.

The police engaged Lucas Salas in a gunfight.

Elisa Salas, Lucas’ niece, was seized at the site and questioned by law authorities after Lucas Salas was murdered in a gunfight with Northglenn Police. Sasha and Elisa both informed police that they had driven with Cheyenne Goins to a site near Mount Blanca’s “wetlands” in the early morning hours of August 8, where Lucas reportedly murdered Cheyenne. Despite the fact that the narratives of both defendants disagree on a number of critical aspects.

Cheyenne’s body was later relocated to the place where he was eventually discovered. Both ladies denied any involvement in the crime, claiming solely to have assisted in moving Cheyenne’s body in various ways.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Alamosa Police Department, the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office, and many other law enforcement agencies were among those involved in the investigation.

Aftermath

In this instance, Sasha Chacon and Elisa Salas are charged with four crimes: first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, tampering with a dead corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.

Lucas Antonio Salas, a third individual who lived in Alamosa and was suspected of being involved in the crime, was killed in a police shootout in Northglenn on August 18, 2021, preventing the issuance of an arrest warrant.
