Christopher Robinson was born in Marietta, Georgia, to Nancy Jane and Stanley Robinson. His father, Stan Robinson, had a Billboard-charting hit in 1959 called “Boom-A-Dip-Dip.” His father died in 2013.

The Black Crowes were once known as Mr. Crowe’s Garden and were signed to Rick Rubin’s label, Def American.
