Emanuel Bedford is charged with several offenses in connection with Reid’s disappearance and killing. Bedford was apprehended by the Burke County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on October 11, 2021, after a multi-state search. After being extradited, Bedford was returned to Pageland for trial.

Reid’s SUV was discovered drowned 11 miles from Bedford’s Georgia house. After examining the DNA recovered in the automobile, authorities established that the blood was Reid’s.
