His father, James Larsen, was a department store salesperson, and his mother, Charlotte Larsen, was a housewife. His parents had a second son, Don’s brother. (1967). He pitched the sixth perfect game in MLB history in 1956. According to the current standings, the record is the only no-hitter or perfect game in World Series history, and one of just two no-hitters in MLB playoff history.
