He was subsequently fired for misconduct and relocated to the United States to work as a truck driver. Before his arrest and conviction for a series of killings in the early 1990s, he worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years.

He moved around the country, frequently for extended periods of time, and utilized his job as a cover for his crimes. Jesperson’s job as a truck driver enabled him to move around the country and evade detection while carrying out his murders.

His job, on the other hand, supplied crucial clues that eventually led to his detention, since detectives were able to match his travels and the timing of his crimes to his trucking routes and schedule.

As a Murderer, Jesperson conducted a string of killings between 1990 and 1995, killing at least eight women. He has, however, claimed culpability for up to 160 murders.

Meanwhile, his victims were usually women he met at truck stops, motels, or other places along his route. He’d entice them into his truck, then assault and kill them. He was apprehended in March 1995 after murdering his last victim, Angela Subrize, and leaving a note confessing to the crime in a truck stop restroom in California.

For his actions, Jesperson was sentenced to life in jail without the chance of parole. In 1998, he was convicted of murder in Oregon for the death of Taunja Bennett and sentenced to life in prison.

He was eventually extradited to California, where he pled guilty to the murder of Julie Ann Winningham and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release.
