Linda Cohn made her radio debut in 1981 as a sports anchor for Patchogue, New York-based radio station WALK-AM (later WALK-FM). She worked at that station for four years until leaving in 1984. She later worked as a sports anchor for four additional New York area radio stations until 1987, including a brief time as an updated person at WFAN in New York City. Similarly, she was able to make sportscasting history in 1987. Because when ABC recruited her, she became the first full-time female sports anchor in the United States on a major radio network.
From 1987 to 1989, she was allowed to headline WABC TalkRadio. She also got her first television break in 1988, when she was recruited by SportsChannel America, one of ESPN’s main competitors at the time.
