Magnus Walker was born in Sheffield, England on July 7, 1967. He was raised solely in his birth town. On a trip to the Earl’s Court Motorshow with his father in 1977, when he was barely ten years old, he saw his first Porsche 911. He was so taken with the model that he sent a letter to the car company asking for a job, to which Porsche responded by asking him to finish his schooling before applying at their offices.

However, before finishing school, the punk artist in him was awakened, and he dropped out in 1982, associating himself with heavy metal and punk rock bands instead. For a long time, he struggled to establish a solid foothold, frequently changing residences and jobs to support himself while following his heart. Magnus Walker eventually decided to immigrate to the United States after his future plans in England became hazy.

He began with a summer job in Detroit before moving to Los Angeles. There, he stumbled into the world of fashion when he was approached by Taime Downe of the Faster Pussycats (a glam metal band), who was so impressed by Magnus’ handiwork of customization on a pair of pants that he went on to buy eight customized pairs from Magnus, each for $25.

Magnus was finally able to buy his dream car, a 1974 Porsche 911, in 1992 thanks to the growth of his business. To further stabilize his business, he purchased a rundown factory in Los Angeles’ Arts District, which turned out to be even more profitable for him because he was asked to allot a portion of his factory land (which was quite large) as a filming location for various purposes.
