Marsha Blackburn was born in Laurel, Mississippi on June 6, 1952, to Mary Jo (Morgan) and Hilman Wedgeworth. Marsha earned a B.S. in home economics from Mississippi State University in 1974. She attended college on a 4-H scholarship and supported herself by selling books and bibles door-to-door for the Southwestern Company while growing up on a farm.
