Tureaud was awarded a scholarship to play football for the Prairie View A&M University Panthers in Prairie View, Texas. He then opted to attend Prairie View and earn a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1971. After a year, he was expelled.
As a result, the final school was not for him, and Tureaud went on to become a military police officer in the United States Army. Tureaud, on the other hand, decided to try out for the Green Bay Packers after his brief stint in the service. However, a sudden knee injury prevented him from joining the team.

But what goes around comes around, as his time as a military cop helped him establish a reputation as one of Chicago’s roughest bouncers, putting him in contact with celebrities regularly. He began defending stars such as Diana Ross, Steve McQueen, and Muhammad Ali. He held that position for nearly ten years before a chance meeting with actor Sylvester Stallone in 1980 changed everything.
