Pete Carroll was born in San Francisco, California on September 15, 1951. His parents were James Edward “Jim” Carroll and Rita Carroll. Rita, his mother, is well-known in San Francisco. Pete was raised in Greenbrae, California. He graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur, California. He, too, is 70 years old.

Pete struggled in high school athletics because he lacked physical improvement as a teenager despite being sporty as a youngster. As a freshman, he weighed just 50kg. In order to try out for football, Pete had to obtain a specific doctor’s clearance. He has the ability to play several positions in football. Pete’s professional career began when his head coach hired him as a graduate assistant. In 1973, he was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Pacific. Pete was recognized in the Pacific Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.

He was dismissed because the Jets kept losing and he couldn’t bring home the Jets trophy. Pete was signed by the New England Patriots in 1997, however he subsequently quit for personal reasons. He was the Patriots’ head coach for two seasons. After a poor season, Pete was dismissed by the Patriots in 1999.
