Monaco’s reigning prince is Prince Albert II. The princely house of Grimaldi is also led by Prince Albert II. He recently tested positive for COVID-19, a novel coronavirus that is causing a worldwide pandemic. Despite his sickness, the prince is doing well and works from his private residence’s office.

Prince Albert II of Monaco was the first ruling monarch a.k.a. head of state to officially confirm a diagnosis for the coronavirus-caused respiratory disease, COVID-19. The announcement was made on March 19, 2020. Despite the results, officials from the city-state palace said in a statement that the Prince’s wellbeing is unconcerned.

Prince Albert is one of the richest royals in the world. He is the president of one of the world’s tiniest nations. Monaco has a population of about 40,000 people. In 2005, they also formally installed the Prince as the country’s leader.

According to the palace announcement, he will continue to work from his office in his private apartments and will maintain close contact with the government amid his illness. It went on to say:

Childhood and Early Years

On March 14, 1958, Prince Albert was born in Monaco’s Prince’s Palace. And he is now 62 years old. On April 20, 1958, he was baptized in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Monaco by Monsignor Jean Delay, archbishop of Marseille, before being unveiled to the citizens of Monaco on the balcony of the Palace. Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, is his father, and Grace Kelly, an American actress, is his mother.

The Prince has Italian, Irish, British, American, German, French, Mexican, Belgian, and Monaco ancestors. Furthermore, the prince was born in the United States and raised in Monaco. He did, however, renounce his American citizenship when he was a young adult.

Prince Louis de Polignac (1909–1996) was his godfather, and his godmother was the Spanish queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain. In 1982, his mother died as a result of injuries suffered in a car crash. At the time of her death, she was 52 years old.

In the 1970s, Prince of Monaco spent six summers at Camp Tecumseh on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, as a camper and later as a counselor. After a year of training in various princely duties, the prince enrolled as Albert Grimaldi at Amherst College in western Massachusetts in 1977, where he studied political science, economics, music, and English literature, as well as joining the Chi Psi fraternity. He is multilingual, speaking French, English, German, and Italian.

Prince Albert married former South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock on July 1, 2011. It was when Wittstock accompanied Prince Albert to the Torino Olympics’ opening ceremony. They’ve been seen at a number of official events since then.

Children are the future

On December 10, 2014, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene welcomed twins Gabriella Thérèse Marie and Jacques Honoré Rainier, their first and second child. Princess Grace Hospital in La Colle, Monaco, welcomed the twins. Jacques holds the titles of Hereditary Prince of Monaco and Marquis of Baux since he is his father’s heir apparent. Gabriella was also given the title of Countess of Carladès by the Prince of Monaco.

Prior to his marriage, the Prince of Monaco fathered Jazmin Grace Grimaldi with Tamara Rotolo, an American woman. Following litigation and DNA tests, the prince admitted on May 31, 2006 that she is indeed his daughter and invited her to study and stay in Monaco.
