On July 10, 1942, the heavy metal vocalist was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States of America. Ronnie James Dio was 67 years old when he passed, and he was of American descent. Ronald James Padavona is his complete name, and he was born with the sign of Cancer. He is of mixed ethnicity and is of Italian-American ancestry.

Patrick Padavona (father) and Anna Padavona are his parents. (mother). During WWII, his father served in the United States Army and relocated to Portsmouth from Cortland. His older brother, David Paduano, was also a musician who played trumpet in several jazz ensembles.

Ronnie grew up listening to a lot of opera and was inspired vocally by American tenor Mario Lanza. He started his first formal musical training at the age of five, learning to play the trumpet.

Ronnie James Dio studies Cortland High School and was a member of his high school’s band program, as well as one of the school’s official dance band’s youngest members. He created his first rock ‘n’ roll band, The Vegas Kings, in high school.

On November 25, 2009, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer and was undergoing treatment at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Heaven & Hell stated on May 4, 2010, that all summer dates would be canceled due to his health.

On August 29, 2009, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, he delivered his final live performance with Heaven & Hell. He passed away on May 16, 2010, at the age of 67.

In terms of his professional career, Ronnie James Dio started his music career in 1957 as a member of the “Vegas Kings.” (later Ronnie and the Rumblers). He founded the rock band “Elf” in 1967, which became a frequent opening act for “Deep Purple.”

Furthermore, in 1975, Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore formed the band “Rainbow” and hired Ronnie to be the main singer. The band issued three studio albums during Ronnie’s tenure as the main singer.

He quickly ascended to prominence as one of heavy rock’s preeminent vocalists. He moved on to become a lead singer for the English rock band “Black Sabbath,” replacing Ozzy Osbourne. He received the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards for “Best Album” and “Best Vocalist” in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Similarly, in 2010, he received the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award for “Metal Guru.”
