Seth Meyers was born in Evanston, Illinois, at the age of 43. He spent his childhood in Okemos, Michigan, before moving to Bedford, New Hampshire. Meyers was born to Hilary Claire Meyers and Laurence Meyers Jr. His father worked in finance, and his mother taught French for a living.

He began his education at Edgewood Elementary in Okemos and later transferred to Manchester High School West in New Hampshire. He went on to attend Northwestern University in Evanston to further his education. He joined the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at Northwestern University.

His comedy career began long before he landed a role on Saturday Night Live. During his college years, he was a member of improv comedy groups from all over the world.

In 2008, he directed his own web series ‘The Line on Crackle,’ earning him the title of ‘director.’ He hosted the Webby Awards twice in a row, in 2008 and 2009. Later that year, he hosted a Microsoft Company meeting at Safeco Field in Seattle. He went on to host the ESPY Awards for ESPN in 2010 and 2011.

His career did not end with comedy routines and talk shows. He even served as the Keynote Speaker at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in April of 2011.

In the year 2001, Seth officially joined the SNL family. His first major promotion came in 2005 when he was appointed as the show’s writing supervisor. Seth went on to share the role of co-head writer with Andrew Steele and Tina Fey the following year.

Meyers began co-hosting the show’s news parody section, ‘Weekend Update,’ with Amy Poehler after Fey left. Amy Poehler eventually left the show. This resulted in Seth’s role as the individual anchor of the “Weekend Update” from 2008 to 2013.

The following season of Saturday Night Live, Cecily Strong teamed up with Seth Meyers to co-anchor the same news parody segment. Meyers’ run on SNL ended with the final episode, which aired on February 1, 2014.

Meyers went on to host his own NBC talk show, ‘Late Night,’ after leaving SNL. He took over for Jimmy Fallon in that capacity.
