Professional life and career
Thatcher rose to prominence as the wife of Palmer, a two-time Grammy Award winner. As a result, her professional life was never particularly exciting. When it comes to her ex-husband, Robert Palmer, he began his musical career in 1954. While still a student at Scarborough High School for Boys, he formed his first band, The Mandrakes. A few years later, he joined the band The Alan Bown Set, which marked a significant turning point in his career.
With the publication of Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley in 1974, Palmer began his solo career. Palmer’s solo career included hits such as Double Fun and Secrets, which charted in the Billboard top 50 and top 100.Palmer later formed the Power Station with guitarist Andy Taylor, bassist John Taylor, and former Chic drummer Tony Thompson in 1985. Their self-titled debut album charted in the Top 20 in the United Kingdom and the Top 10 in the United States. Palmer, however, soon departed the band and began a solo career. He subsequently went on to release some of his most popular tracks, including “I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On,” “Addicted to Love,” and “Simply Irresistible.”

This incredible vocalist, who had a gritty and soulful voice, offered the world a taste of music that blended soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae, and blues. He has received numerous accolades, including the MTV Video Music Award and two Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. He was also nominated twice for the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist.

In late 1978, Eileen Thatcher met Palmer backstage at one of his gigs in Pittsburgh. She worked as a backstage crew member for a number of productions. The two hit it off right away and started dating. The couple chose to marry after years of adolescent love. Thatcher was only 19 years old when she married Palmer. James Palmer, the couple’s first child, was born in 1978 after only a few years of marriage. Jane Palmer was the name given to their second child, born in 1979.
They lived together for years, although there were many ups and downs. Thatcher was fed up with their constant squabbles and requested a divorce. In 1993, the couple officially divorced.Thatcher later elected to remain single, while Palmer married Shelly Putman. A private wedding ceremony is held for them. Palmer’s second marriage resulted in the birth of three children: Anna Palmer, Martin Palmer, and Anthony Palmer. Even this marriage, however, did not work out for Palmer. In 1978, he divorced Shelly.
Ex-Death husband’s
Palmer died abruptly in his hotel room in Paris in 2003 after suffering a heart attack. He’d arrived in Paris after filming a television appearance for Yorkshire TV in London for a retrospective titled My Kinda People. He died while he was only 54 years old.
