Dhulia came to Mumbai in 1990 after finishing his graduation and began working as a casting director on the TV series “Hum Log” in 1984. He then served as an assistant director on the film “Bandit Queen,” a biopic of Phoolan Devi.

He was the casting director for Asif Kapadia’s 2001 film “The Warrior,” in which he also featured as a stallholder, and the 1995 film “Stiff Upper Lips.”

Dhulia started his career as an assistant to Pradip Krishen in “Electric Moon” and Ketan Mehta in “Sardar.” (1993). Later, he moved to television, and in the 1990s, Dhulia directed and produced several shows, including the six-part “Krishna’s Dream” for UK Channel Four.

In 2003, he made his directorial debut with “Haasil,” which garnered critical acclaim and established him as a talented filmmaker. Following this, he released films such as “Charas” (2004), “Shagird” (2011), and “Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster” (2011), which solidified his position in the business.
